What happens if my payment fails

A card can fail for the usual reasons — expired, insufficient funds, bank declined. When it does, Stripe and our system work together so you don’t get cut off instantly.

The retry window

  • The charge is retried automatically several times over the following days.
  • You get an email for each failed attempt.
  • During this window your account is in past due status — full access preserved, credits still work as normal.

Fix the card in the billing page any time during the window and the next retry will go through cleanly.

If retries all fail

Once the retry schedule is exhausted, the subscription ends and the account drops to Free:

  • Your subscription credits go to zero.
  • Purchased pack credits are untouched — they’re permanent and stay on the account. See Credit packs.
  • You can resubscribe whenever; the Free plan still gives 2 daily credits for signed-in use.
